Subject: [ferrethealth] Update on Bear
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Ok we went back to the vet this evening and his glucose was still very
low, 38
They also did a radio graph, their ultrasound machine was broke. On
palpation they felt a lump, thinking it was either the pancreas, a
lymph node from a intestinal infection or a mass of some kind.
You could see it with the x-ray put very faint, it was hard to
determine whether it was the pancreas enlarged or possible blockage.
His poos are not thin, he poos a large amount, and they are starting
to take form now.

They changed his medicine to Prednisolone, the vet felt the prednisone
may be also causing him to feel nauseas too. He is on 0.25 Ml by mouth
twice daily (2mg/ml) I hope that explains the dosage amount better. It
was increased from previous dose. She also gave him a shot of Dex
something for the life of me I cannot remember what it was called but
is used to increase the glucose level.
I have noticed since he got his shot he looks better and is acting
better but is still not eating good. He wants to eat but after a
little bit he pushes it away. He does not grind his teeth, but I do
believe others are right that we probably have a stomach ulcer.

One question is: I do not have carafate, I do have some pepto is that
alright to give in the place of the carafate. I also have some pepcid
AC gelcaps 10 mg.
He is still on the amoxi drops for the intestinal infection.
