Subject: [ferrethealth] Feeding eggs - raw vs. cooked
To: <ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com>

If you are feeding raw eggs regularly, there can be problems with a biotin
deficiency. Raw egg whites contain avidin, which will bind with the biotin
in the egg. So, if feeding raw egg, it is better to feed mostly yolk.

However, cooking the egg destroys the avidin. So, if you are feeding cooked
eggs, it is fine to feed the entire egg.

See the post here for reference information on this subject.
