Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Young ferret dying of bronchitis? Help! --Mystery solved--
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Sukie,
Teddy was diagnosed by blood test initially on a Monday late Oct and then on that Wed he
had a bone marrow aspirate that confimed the leukemia. He actually had immature cells
in the aspirate so thats why we were actually hopeful that we could at least slow it down
or possibly put him into remission. If if the report would be helpful I could get it.
Even though he was young the chemo treatments were very hard on him and Im not sure I
would ever do that again.
He lived for 2 more months but at what cost to him. He had maybe 1 week during that
time that he was feeling really good but thats about it. I used a baby monitor for his last 2
months because sometimes he would cough so hard that I needed to give him some torb
to relax him so he could rest and stop coughing. It was a really horrible time for us both
and all his ferret friends.
