I am not a vet. But by looking at the way propecia works, it would do nothing but decrease the amount of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), there are receptors for DHT on the prostate and too much of this is what is what causes the enlarged prostates in men, ?causes enlarged prostates in ferrets with adrenal disease. It would have not other real effects. So, decreasing the dose should not cause anything but perhaps losing the effect on the prostate tissue and eventually have no effect at all.
Meaning the only signs may be re occurance of the original problem with urinating. How this would cause lethargy is not clear, unless is lethargic only after starts having problems urinating again and this effect would not be a quick one, perhaps a few days to weeks after decreasing or stopping propecia IF propecia is working for the problem in the first place.
How long on Lupron? It would take a few months before the Lupron would help an enlarged prostate from adrenal gland disease, at least I am guessing it would take time before the prostate tissue would stop being stimulated and its size decrease enough so the urinary symptoms are better.
IF it is the problem in the first place.

Subject: [ferrethealth] Propecia
It's been a year and my ferret Mojave is still having difficulty
urinating. I finally decided to give in to those who kept insisting
that it's adrenal disease related, despite him not showing any signs of
it and so he has been on Lupron Depot but still hasn't shown any kind
of improvement.
Now here's where it gets kind of tricky: Everytime I drop his dosage of
propecia down to less than a half of a pill, he starts acting lethargic
again. Does anyone have any ideas of why this is so?
