Hi,
Here is another possibility....
One of my little boys would get these dry cough/gasping attacks when he
was very young (about a month or two old). Rather than wheezing, he
would gasp, suck in air and cough - almost squeaking at times when he
did this. Then he would be perfectly normal. He in't get abnormally
worn out when racing aroud (like you would expect with lung/heart
issues)
It was so confusing, but we figured it out - my boy got giardia from
our tap water! The coughing fits were caused by acid reflux.
It's possible your little guy has some kind of "tummy bug" like
helicobacter, giardia, or another type of bacteria or parasite that's
giving him heart burn!!!!
