Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Propecia
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

He's had several ultrasounds this past summer that have shown that
everything looks absolutely normal. Both adrenals and his prostate
were well within normal range. The only reason I decided to give into
those who said it was adrenal related is because I couldn't get any
other theories about what's going on with him.

According to the book "Ferrets, Rabbits, and Rodents" the prostate is
supposed to shrink within 24 hours after receiving the lupron
injection (Of course, they may not be talking about the depot)
He's been on Lupron Depot for about 8 months now and there still has
not been any change at all in his bathroom habits.

We also tried flutamide with him which just made him just look like
he was sick and not feeling well.

I'm wondering if there are any undiscovered benefits of taking
propecia? Is there a risk with giving him this much propecia everyday?

Any other theories (other than adrenal disease) about what may be
going on here?

He had a TN panel last February with the results saying that "2 of
the 3 parameters were elevated supporting clinical signs of adrenal
disease" He, at the time, had no clinical signs of any sort
whatsoever.

He now, however, is showing some balding on his tail.
