Adrenal disease is indicated when ANY of the levels are elevated,
regardless of what signs you are or are not seeing. And, you WERE
seeing signs, even if you did not recognize what it indicated.
Difficulty urinating IS a sign of adrenal disease, and you don't need
to see any other signs....in fact, you don't need to see ANY signs at
all.
Your ferret has adrenal disease, he has had it for quite some time,
and this is the cause of his problems.
Now, as for the prostate. Again, cysts may be the cause. Not showing
on ultrasound does not mean they are not there. My boy had ultrasounds
done too, nothing showed. A day after the last ultrasound 3 large
cysts were found during surgery. The cysts were drained, it brought
temporary relief.
As for the Propecia, it may not be the cause of your boys lethargy.
It's more likely the disease itself is to blame, particularly if
you're dealing with malignancy.
With all else seeming to fail it may be time to consider surgical
exploration, which may at least give you some answers.
I know it's all very frustrating, I've had 16 adrenal ferrets to date
myself. Sometimes they go by the book, many times they haven't learned
to read, but your boy seems to have been reading from the same book
some of my boys have.
