I have owned ferrets for about 20 years and you don't have to tell me
about these guys not following the rules :)

Now let me warn you this is along post with history so you can
understand where I'm at and why I get so frustrated.

I thought it was adrenal when I first noticed that he was having some
diificulty urinating which is why I insisted that the TN panel be
done. As it is, I had to go to my cat's and dog's vet to have it done
because the ferrets' vet didn't believe it was adrenal disease and
suggested I wait to see if he does come up with any more signs before
testing him. I had to convince the vet who did it to do it because he
was positive it wasn't adrenal related. When the results came back he
told me that it doesn't neccessarily explain the difficulty urinating
because the test is not 100% (which I knew) and that he may just be
starting to have adrenal disease and that he doesn't believe it to
yet be full blown Adrenald disease.

I then had the ferrets' vet order an ultrasound which came back
completely normal.

Then I went and got a third opinion from a very ferret experienced
vet who said it isn't adrenal disease and was convinced it had
something to do with his bladder. He wanted to do another ultrasound
but because I couldn't make it back up there, that had to wait. I
asked him to give him a lupron shot but he didn't want to do that
because he didn't think it was adrenal related. While we were there
Mojave left a urine sample that revealed that he had some trace blood
in his urine but the tech thought it might be from his straining.
That vet also gave me some metacam to give him.

I talked to the ferrets' vet and told her what the ferret vet thinks
the issue is and so she gave me a bladder relaxant med and we hoped
it would work- It didn't.

We then decided to go with the fluatamide instead of the propecia
because the propecia wasn't helping. The flutamide just made him look
sick and was helping at all So back on the propecia he went.

I went and got, yet, another opinion. This time it was from an exotic
specialist. He said that he really doesn't think it's adrenal because
he's not showing any real symptoms at all. He then ordered another
ultrasound and this very sensitive one came back normal as well. He
then did a clean urine sample and this one came back as having trace
amounts of blood and a milky like substance.

I then went back to the ferrets' vet and demanded that she order some
lupron depot and give it to him. In July he had his first injection
and we still haven't see any improvements.

He just had another injection last month.
