In Pubmed there does appear to be POSSIBLE genetic link for some humans
so perhaps also for ferrret?
For those who haven't seen the follow-up: pathology was done one of the
related ferrets with tail tumors and it was chondroma (a tumor that arises
from cartilage) instead of chordoma.
There have been two or three separate discussions on tail tumors recently...
