Hello Andrea,
It is prudent to have this done for the same reasons it is done with
humans facing surgery - to establish a baseline, to rule out infection,
to ensure there isn't something going on that might make surgery risky,
to make sure the blood count is good so that the blood loss that comes
with all surgical procedures won't present a problem for the patient, to
make certain that the kidneys and liver are strong enough to withstand
the stress of surgery and anesthesia. Essentially to make certain
everything is okay and if not to alert the surgical team to potential
problems that will need careful monitoring so that your fuzzy has a
higher probability of surviving the surgical procedure, which we all
know carries risks.

and over. My problem though, is, I'm trying to find some websites or any
information that recommends this. I dont know if I'm searching correctly
or not, but I cant find much. If anyone knows of any websites or search
results like this, could you please send them to me? I really really
would appreciate it very much.
