Well, normally, a note like this and the reply would never go public,
but it was apparently sent to the posting address and approved
by one of the moderators, so...
Those two words were added in fairness to the varied opinions of the
member veterinarians of the FHL, because there simply are NOT
absolutes on how it is best to treat adrenal disease for all vets, though
there may be for specific vets themselves. For some vets
(who seem to predominantly be in northern areas which get less
bright light than many others) Lupron seems to be most often
mentioned as working better for them, but other vets seem to often
repeatedly say, year after year that surgery continues to work best
for them.
So, it seemed a way to honor what Karen, Dr. Cathy Johnson-Delaney,
and Dr. Sandra Kudrak Mitchell had found worked best for them, while
still honoring the statements of other vets including Dr. Jerry Murray,
Dr. Bruce Williams, Dr. Deb Kemmerer Cottrell, at four of our vets
through the years, and others who simply had different experiences.
Retaining our veterinary expert participation is one of the things that
sets the FHL off from many other resources.
My worry was that such an absolute statement might simply not fit
Rule 1 (Rules are in
http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/ferrethealth/files/ )
now that we are all learning that the experiences on this score vary
a LOT. Those two words left your message in but honored those
of others.
Karen, if you would prefer rejection instead for rewrite (always an option)
just let us know at the moderator's address. I vacillated between the two
-- practically pulled out hair over it -- but then thought that I knew you
enough that you would not mind those particular two words since they
did not alter the message itself. Obviously, i may have been wrong.
