Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Lymphoma Question

I was doing some research on here and realized I'm not the only one
going through this. Sienna started with this back in 2003. She and
Rosie were playing too rough in the cage and Rosie either scratched
Sienna's eye or bit her near there - it swelled slightly and about 1
month later, it had gone down but I still noticed something there -
so, I proceeded to take her to the vet. Long story short - the eye
was removed, and the "goop" behind there removed. Now we are in 2008
and several surgeries later - she will be having another surgery in a
few days. But, for sure she has lymphoma. It is in her glands in her
neck - the tumor has swollen again near where the eye was removed and
on top of her head. She has become slightly week in her legs but is
playing and eating very well. I always make sure she gets plenty of
fluids each day. She is also on .02 of the compounded pred. I cannot
afford the chemo or the radiation therapy for her so, I do my best to
keep her comfortable and have only had these surgeries done so she is
not in pain, etc.

It is just weird how this all started from an injury to her eye. She
is almost 7 now.

Is there any reason to think that the prednizone would cause this
stuff to keep coming back or to spread faster? Just a thought I had
tonight.

Any suggestions for my little girl are always welcomed. Thanks for
the past information that I discovered from others who have had this
similar problem.
