my hubby took 4 of our ferrets to the vet to day for their yearly check
ups. this is a newish vet who has never seen these 4. one of them is
also being spayed on Tuesday(she is from a private breeder) my
question is that I did not want to give them the distemper shot after
reading all that has been said about it. Well the vet to hubby that if
we did not get the distemper shot he would not spay the one ferret. So
hubby let the vet give the shot to all 4. Well one of them had a bad
reaction,(went limp, had foam comming from mouth so i was told) this is
our oldest one (the one that is blind due to having some strokes). He
is ok now but i am worried that this might have been the last straw so
to speak for him. I am upset becuase if i had been there i would not
have allowed the shot. Also he gave both the rabies and the distemper
shot at the same time. I am now thinking of looking for a new vet as i
did not like that he forced the distemper shot. I am looking to see
what those of you who are in the vet field think about this. thank you
jasmine and the amazing 9
missing zena
