Kim:

So, what is a recommended diet for a Ferret? We buy Premium's Ferret Food from Wal-Mart. We also have been buying their Fruit and Vegie Treat product as well. Do we need to stop buying the Fruit and Vegie Treat food? Should we be purchasing an alternate main food? We have lost three Ferrets over the years. Two to Adrenal Disease and one to Lymphosarcoma within the past week. We, of course, want to do everything possible to allow our remaining Ferret to live as long a life is possible. Since the appropriate diet is the answer, please let us know what that diet should actually be. Thanks for your time!

Drew Lindhoff.

Another ferret succombed to insulinoma at just 6 1/2 years old. I
realize this is not a nutrition forum, but with insulinoma so rampant
and being proved to be linked to a hi carb/ hi vegetable matter diet -
it is obviously a VERY preventable disease!
