Suki,

An alternative to Pine litters that is practically dust free, is odor
free and chemical free is "Sof-Sorbent" by Kaytee. Although they do
offer it in colors, I use the plain.

I find the ferrets prefer it to Yesterday's news and the pine pellets.

Eating soap was a favorite pasttime of my potbelly pig when he lived in
the house with me! I guess its the lard still used as a soap base.

I've got visions of your ferret swinging from a soap on a rope in your
shower!

You might try offering a blob of unsalted lard for the ferret to lick.

Of course an alternative to bar soap is body wash in squeeze bottles
that the ferret can't reach.

Cheers, Kim
