Subject: [ferrethealth] low carb chicken free diet? (no corn, grains, or plant material)

I have been reading over the discussion on the the relationship
between diet and insulinoma. I am trying to give my ferret the best
diet, minimizing her grain and plant material intake. This has become
complicated for me because I believe she has IBS, possibly from a
chicken allergy. As of now she gets turkey and turkey gravy baby food
twice a day (with her pred) and then has free choice of a mix of
totally ferret turkey and venison, ferret archetypal 1 (I pick out as
much of the stuff I believe to be chicken as I can), and Wysong's
dream treats (beef). I would love to have her diet be the archetypal 1
primarily, but it is hard to get rid of the chicken, and gets
expensive (I go through it faster because I remove the chicken chunks
and give it to my dog). I am worried about using the totally ferret
turkey and venison. She seems to like it, but it does contain rice,
corn, potatoes, etc, which worries me. What is everyone's opinion on
continuing feeding her this? Any other suggestions for a low carb
chicken free diet? (besides cooking my own, which I already know is an
option, but is hard for me to do at this point in my life).
