Subject: [ferrethealth] 5 yr old male ferret with loss of hair and growing sore
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Hello,

I have a male ferret which has slowly been loosing his hair on his back
above his shoulders and above his two hind legs, in addition to his
tail. Also there is a sore that looks similar to what herpes would look
like in people. It has been growing larger and larger (although it is
still small).

I had blood work done on him, and had an ultrsound done to exclude
Adrenal disease. The vet is at a loss for words. Everything else about
him is fantastic. He has a good appetite; he's active; he's happy all
around. Has anyone had similar issues with their ferrets? Where I live,
I only have one exotic vet, and my gut still says that they are missing
something.

Thanks,
Tania
