I had a ferret surrendered years ago that had cataract surgery when she was a year old...so after looking at my records I'm going with 1996. The procedure was done at a specialist clinic here in the Metro Detroit area. The owner had saved some literature and I found it very interesting. However, at $1500 we've never had a ferret in for cataract removal; just not something the Shelter can consider. But I do know it's possible!
