Be aware that low insulin is not proof of no insulinoma. The insulin
secreted by the beta cells during insulinoma is not high constantly,
it is emitted in erratic bursts and a reading at any one point can be
misleading. The general rule is if the glucose is 60 or less at any
time then it is almost certainly insulinoma irrespective of the
insulin reading or of any other clinical signs. If it is between 60
and 80 with walking/standing problems, shivering, staring into space,
sleeping, lethargy and salivating then it is probably insulinoma
irrespective of insulin readings.
