Subject: Re: [ferrethealth] Ear Tumor
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

We had a "floating" tumor removed from our Josie's ear. It had gotten large enough to fill the cavity, but wiggled, so it had a stem. Surgery went fine, but there was a bit of bleeding. 6-8 months later another one grew into the same space and we had a second surgery, this time removing nearly the entire outer ear. This surgery, according to the vet, went even better than the first and the entire mass was easily removed, as it had attached itself more superficially. This time there was little blood and quick healing. She is doing just fine now.
One more thing, the pathology report came back positive for cancer the first time, but we did not bother with a second report since we knew the results would be the same.
