Hey there
Is the pred concentration 1mg/ml? if so, see about getting it formulated in a more concentrated formula to allow for more mgs to be given without having to give a huge amount of volume. some of my patients have had to go as high as 5mg 2xdaily to control their insulinomas, also diazoxide at 10mg 2xdaily sometimes has to be added in. this is an expensive medication but can make a life and death difference for some of these weazels.

He currently eats Innova Evo and Wellness Core, and gets a dab of
chicken babyfood with his pred to make sure he has something in his
tummy. He also gets the babyfood when I want him to have some quickly
digestible protein if he's crashed and been brought back out with
honey or whatever.

He gets 1 ml of pediapred twice a day. We considered three times, but
he frequently will start having weak spells within two or three hours
of his morning dose (and is usually perfectly fine the rest of the day
and overnight) so it doesn't seem like a promising idea.

He was getting ferretone sometimes as a chaser for the pred, but then
I talked to the vet and she said it was contraindicated, which I had
never heard before.

One of my other ferrets also has perfectly controlled insulinoma, so
it doesn't look like there's any weird environmental factor.
