Thank you, Doc Sandy, for giving me some direction. I plan on
researching the cancers you mentioned, and will talk to my vet about
adding a second "well-ferret" visit for my older furkids, along with
the annual ultrasound. I've not been able to work for 6 years, so the
added expense will be a toughie, but I'll figure out a way to do it
if it means no more deadly surprises. These little guys deserve the
best, and I'll find a way to get it for them!
Question: Aren't mast cell tumors considered benign in ferrets, or is
my recollection fuzzy due to all the reading I've done? Or are they
just fast-growing, with the danger being that vital organs are
crowded or damaged?
