Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Lack of socialization?
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Size? Is the end of her tail black? The reason I ask is that I don't think that I have ever
heard of a black nosed DEW (though this could be a ferret w roning who originally was a
marked white) but I also want to be sure this isn't actually an ermine in winter coat, esp. w
that startle response. My guess is that this little one was a marked white ferret originally
who went lighter over the years, but i just want to be sure.

There are also white mink, but their coloration is more like that of DEW so the noses are
always pale as far as i know, but some are not albinos and have dark eyes:

I think that you seriously have to consider that this individual may be fully blind -- which
would explain much when presented with an entirely new situation as well and suggest
info and resources in these:

BTW, blind ones do just fine once they adjust. Certainly, lack of socialization is also
possible.
