Hi Joana,

Sounda like she's a faded silver or fancy colored ferret. If you look
closele at her head and it is all white, which it sounds like it is
from your description. She may be a deaf ferret.

Blind is relatively easy to detect by rolling a large ball slowly
across the floor and watching her reaction. Even if she doesn't chase
it, she should look at it. Don't roll it so close to her that her
whiskers could pick up the wind or vibrations from it.

Deafness can be detected by using a squeaker, a rattle, or a bell
behind your back and preferably out of site from the ferret. Ferrets
that can hear will respond by investigating.

Deaf ferrets that haven't been properly handled, or handled much tend
to be very jumpy when touched. Check out the yahoo groups for deaf
ferrets for more great info.

Its not uncommon for ferrets to bash into walls and furniture when
they are doing their "happy dance" (war dance) - they seem to become
so exuberant they loose all sense of direction as well as spatial
relationships. But bumping into things when just walking about would
to me, indicate a blind ferret.

Keep posted!
Cheers, Kim
