The problem may have begun before you made the switch but was not yet
apparent. I know with my kids it was progressive. When I first added
EVO to their mix I immediately saw looser stools, which I was
expecting, and also noted the stools had a much stronger odor. They
seemed to be doing well otherwise though so I continued giving the
EVO. Over the next several months the loose, smelly stools turned to
recurrent bouts of diarrhea and vomiting, they became lethargic and
began dropping weight. My vet could find nothing wrong with any of
them (I had 8 or 10 at the time going through this) and suggested I
look at their diet. The only new food item they'd been given in that
time period was the EVO. So I removed it. Within one week stools were
normal, there was no more vomiting, they all began to perk up, and
soon after all started putting the weight back on. In total, I was
feeding EVO (the feline version, though I'm not sure it makes a
difference as the feline and ferret versions are nearly identical) for
about 6 months. If I remember correctly it was a good 3 months into
giving the EVO when the problems became apparent.
