I am sure of the steroid suggestion on his part but I will call his office
and talk to him again about this. You're right that it was a lot of
information we discussed and this is all very new to me and I didn't think
(didn't know better) to question the steroid option. I didn't mean to imply
that simply because I got the recommendation (in an indirect way) from the
list here that I believe this vet to be the wonderful expert that I said he
was. I knew of him already but I just didn't know that he treated ferrets. I
was comparing his demeanor with my vet and he sited many different therapy
options, traditional medicine and homeopathic, seminars, articles and books
- I didn't consider he was showing off, I didn't get that vibe from him but
who knows? My vet was very closed lipped not offering anything beyond the
basic - surgery = out, recommendation = lupron shots monthly for the rest of
Herbs life. I did hear that the "new" was amazing and really knew his stuff
from other people in my area who have been to see him. Plus, his appointment
book is always full -- that must say something too? I hope that I will get
this all cleared up by a simple phone call, but will do what I have to
either way. I still have my appointments with both vets and I still have
the prerogative to chose the one I see as the best option. You bet your
bottom dollar I'll be reporting back here with what each one has to say.
I really appreciate everyones input and advice - REALLY. Thank you all.

Laura
