With such extreme lethargy and the enlargement of the
spleen not being even I think that unfortunately you may
need to consider lymphoma or carcinoma among the
possibilities.

Also among the possibilities is a really bad infection, such
as of Helicobacter which is possibly the most common root
cause of ulcers in ferrets, can also inflame the spleen. If the
spleen is huge that itself can slow down a ferret greatly and
one that is too large can be at risk of rupture.

Has the vet suggested removal?

How were the meds timed? If the other meds were given too
close to the Carafate they might have wound up coated and
unavailable for treatment.
