Lasix does have to be used very sparingly. I would say if you guys were to use it, it needs to be a very reduced dose and used at an every other day schedule to see if it helps him and only give a few doses. Lasix can be detrimental if it isn't used in a correct manner and in the right situation.

Hello everyone, First I want to say thank you all so much for the help
I have gotten from you in caring for my Insulinomic/Adrenal baby Levi.
Levi has gained so much weight from being on Prednisone that it is now
becoming an issue. He is 3.5lbs but he is totally his same size except
for his belly. It has previously just stuck way out on both sides of
him but now lately I have noticed that is now under him when he walks.
It is even dragging on the floor. I have had to make all new litter
boxes because he can not make it over them. He is really having a hard
time getting around with all of this extra weight on his little legs
and I notice he is always breathing heavy. I asked my vet if Furosemide
would help to lessen his water weight but she says it is only for if
they have heart problems or actual water that can be extracted. I have
heard different things from other people but I really do not know if
maybe the vet does not know or what. Im wondering if there are any
vets on this group that have used it or if anyone knows of anything
else that can be done to help my boy. He is still happy, eating well,
and getting around as much as he can. I am just scared that his weight
issue might start becoming a bigger issue. Thanks in advance for any
help anyone can offer. Anita
