this is very true. The Dr. House bedside manner doesn't mean that a vet isn't really good at diagnosing and treating and the opposite is many times true.

Exactly! And why would he imply that insulinoma is diagnosed through spleen size?

Being great with animals doesn't always go hand in hand with being great with their
owners. One of the best vets I know of has a horrible bedside manner--he just doesn't
want to do--or deal with-- the BS, and many owners think he's cold. But he's saved
several of mine that would have died otherwise.
