Subject: [ferrethealth] proper food for insulinoma with kidney problem
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
Hi, Nexus had his blood work done yesterday and his sugar was 73.
Creatine was 1.4 which concerned my vet. BUN was normal. Nexus is
almost 7. My vet started him on Azium twice a day for the insulinoma
and a drop of iron supplement once a day because he was a bit anemic.
He also suggested I switch to K/D food for the kidneys. Just
wondering if anyone has any advice as to the food he should be
eating. Thanks.
[Moderator's Note: Azium is Dexamethasone, another member
of the glucocorticoid class of hormones (like Prednisolone)
which are catabolic steroids.]
