Subject: [ferrethealth] Fast time before surgery
To: <ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com>

What is the usual time that ferret specific veterinarians recommend fasting
a ferret presurgery? I have a possible surgery on Friday to remove what I
believe is a sebaceous epithelioma on a rather old girl of mine. Assuming
she is ok for surgery, I was concerned with being told to fast her from
midnight the night before I bring her in. I was told to bring her in at
9-10am. Seeing as ferrets have a short digestive tract this worries me.

I would appreciate input on this.

Thanks much

~Heather
