Have you tried putting some of her poop in the corners of the litter
box? I was able to train my deaf ferret to use a litter box in one
day by putting her in the litter box until she used it before I took
her out of the cage. Try putting a litter box in the corners where
they tend to go. I have six boxes around the house because they
have picked certain corners to go. If you see her heading for a
corner of the cage to go potty, then pick her up and place her in
the litter box. If there is some poop in it, it should prevent her
from emptying it and/or rolling around. When I worked at a pet
store, I had all my baby ferrets litter trained in 3 days with these
methods. Maybe Lily is not used to being out of a cage for play
time. she might be a little scared, and is thinking the cage is a
safety zone. she might not have been fed proper food or treated the
best with her other owners. try taking her out and playing with
her...eventually she should come around. remember though, some
ferrets are just small. mine range from 1 pound 3 ounces to almost
2 pounds. I have also seen ferrets in the shelter where I volunteer
under a pound and they were healthy. good luck with the
littertraining.

it off of a guy, she is very underweight, a tad lethargic, & DOES
NOT attempt or look at the litter box. Since she has been here with
us, she has been eating a lot. I have noticed a little weight gain.
If you walk up to the cage she looks at you, unlike Pixie she isn't
eager to get up & want out. Also they said she had a problem with
