Thank you for the kind words on my post Sukie. I know this post is off
topic, but I felt it was important for people to know my background
and where my information comes from. I have been a ferret owner for 8
years, and am in my 4th year of graduate studies in biological
chemistry. I do not have my PhD yet, but should in about 1.5 yrs. I
have also worked at an animal hospital for 10 years.
I am NOT a veterinarian, nor do I claim to know everything. What I can
tell you is that given my background, I can understand the science
behind a lot diseases in ferrets and how the meds to treat them work
if I can obtain the proper information. I get my information (as does
Sukie) from PubMed, and have full access to many peer reviewed
journals because I am a university student. That being said, I am more
than willing to try and interpret info for people that may seem
confusing due to a heavy science lingo content.
Bless you all for work through this forum. It has revolutionized
ferret care.
