no, actually the needle is quite a bit bigger but I have never needed anesthesia because it is a simple subcutaneous injection that takes no longer to perform than a vaccinatiion.

I believe the particular needl used to implant the Ferretonin is a 25
guage- about human Atrerial size, and shouldn't be any necessity of
anesthesia, as it is commonly injected under the skin of the scruff.
