Go with what your own vet prefers to do - that way you will have a
vet performing a procedure with confidence. Less stressful for you
and most importantly for your fuzzy.

A mild brief sedative leaves the body quickly. We're not talking
about the level of drugs in general anesthesia that is required for
surgery.
