The Merial recombitek one appears to have a much lower rate of reactions and is well
tested for effectiveness in ferrets BUT they have a horrid production schedule so it is not
always available.
When it is not available people in the U.S. usually use Galaxy. Galaxy is not well tested in
ferrets but has a long history of use. The vaccine which led to Galaxy was tested (in more
than a few kits and for longer than short term). Another potential problem with Galaxy is
that since it is not specifically sold for ferrets there is the risk that they might decide one
day to use ferret tissue lines in production and if that happened it could cause the illness.
Luckily, they don't seem to want to lose the ferret customers they have so have not done
that.
Fervac used to be available but has been discontinued. It had a number of problems.
