Subject: [ferrethealth] Oliver: questions about liver and kidney disease
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
Hi. I am new to the list. My name is Tonya and I am posting about
Oliver. He will be 6yr. old in October. In August 2007 he had his
left adrenal removed and he also has insulomina. He goes every 4
weeks for a lupron shot. Over the last week he has been vomiting
some. On Monday he had a full blood panel ran on him. His dr. was
very busy that day and told me to start heading home, (I live 2hrs.
from the vet) she would call me when they finish his blood. When she
called she told me everything was elevated. She told me they showed
signs of early liver and kidney disease. I have been waiting on her
to email the numbers from his panel but she is very busy so I haven't
gotten that yet. I was hoping that maybe someone here can give me
some answers.
Oliver is not able to have surgery. His adrenal surgery was very
hard on him. My vet mentioned that she can do a liver biopsy.
Since he can't have surgery what are my other options?
What can I expect him to go through from liver and kidney disease?
He has been vomiting what can I give him to calm his tummy down?
Should I continue lupron?
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Tonya
