Hi Kathryn, First, sorry to hear of your loss of Pika. I dont blame you for not wanting to jump to any surgery, now especially. Yes, high Lipase is suppossed to be indicative of IBD, but Imuran (I think its called?) is such a strong drug, I would be hesitant to use it w/out a definate diagnosis. Have you tried any kind of diet change? Pred is also used for IBD, and even though its not to be taken lightly, I dont think its as harsh as the other drug, so you may want to consider the Pred instead if the diet change doesnt help.

For her enlarged nodes and spleen, that could either indicate lymphoma or an infection - I believe are the common causes. Can they do an aspirate instead of a biopsy? You may want to try treating him w/ the Helicobacter meds first, to see if it might be an infection.

Good luck w/ your little one.
Andrea
