Hello all,
My 3.5 year old ferret Marley had a 1 cm (approx.) mass removed
from his back leg last week. During follow up today with our vet
today, we reviewed the biopsy results, which indicated
Leiomyosarcoma. This pathologists comments: "Neoplastic cells extend
to the deep margin of the specimen. This is a grade 1 (low grade)
leiomyosarcoma. These neoplasms are characterized by local
infiltration and recurrence but rare metastasis. Consultation with an
oncologist may be helpful". Our intention of course is to proceed
with consultation. But I wanted to gather all the information I could
related to this, including any experiences that you guys may have had
with this kind of cancer. Any input is appreciated. Thank you!
Lucie
