Hi, sorry to hear about Tommie's problems. My first thought is ulcer,
especially since Tommie is grinding his teeth and having dark, tarry
stools. My Boo Boo went through the same thing.
My other thought is, if it is ulcer, separating him from his cage mate is
only going to stress him more, so unless there is a good reason for keeping
them apart, I would get them back in the same place again asap.
I'm not a vet, and there are others here far more knowledgeable than I am,
but I battled a long time with Boo Boo's ulcers, and he had to go through 2
rounds of treatment before we got it under control. It was so bad for him
that his labs were all over the place. The folks on this list were actually
responsible for getting him the right diagnosis and treatment. I printed
out the FHL protocol sheet for ulcer and took it to my vet....
Search the FHL archives for ulcer protocol, print it out and take it to your
vet asap. I sent you a more detailed and lengthy message to your email
address, but I'm hoping this will get to you quickly. And again, I'm not a
vet, and I'm sure others here will be responding as well.
Let us know how he does!
Ella
