***We are on our 2nd Lupron shot and no Melatonin yet. It's not easy to come by the
implant around here - I guess. Working on it though. Curious, why you'd do the implant
and the oral still? My vet and I also discussed blood testing. She said that would tell us
how the organs are functioning. Ultra Sound shows you the structure of the organs and
the blood work will tell you how they are functioning. But, I have heard that if the animal
isn't exhibiting signs that would warrant doing a blood panel it is questionable how much
value it would provide. That is ONLY what I heard. It cannot be a waste of time in my
opinion -- if it all comes back normal that gives you piece of mind that everything is
functioning the way it should, and this is a good thing. If things are "off" or you get
abnormal values back then you know you need to pay attention elsewhere...
Does anyone else have an opinion on this? Because I have not done the blood panel yet.
My Herb is doing so well in all respects. I'm about to write another post about our vet visit
today -- but I think his hair is even coming back! ;-)
