Subject: [ferrethealth] Special diet for IBD
Has anyone had success in using any of the Hill's special diet canned foods, or any comparable foods, in maintaining a ferret with IBD?
We've been trying to manage Trinny's IBD as much as possible with diet change, and although we're having some success with supplementing Gerber's Stage 2 Turkey and our soup, we've also found that we cannot eliminate her Prednisolone. When weaned off of the Pred, she went back to bad poops, often mostly yellowish mucuous. So, we're resigned to giving her as low a dose as possible daily of the Pred, and I'd like to try one of the Hill's or comparable foods to see if that will help as well. If anyone has any advice on specific foods used, please let me know.
