Subject: [ferrethealth] Longterm birdseed poop
Hello FHL,
Please send advice.
Rico looks and acts fine. But has had birdseed poop for abt 10 days w
no improvement. He is eating constantly. He is 4.
HE spent the better part of abt 5 weeks on sulfa Rx for Coccidia, and
now, after that, has spent about a week on Amoxy (see earlier posts
for specifics on this, if you like)
What do you think is the problem? What do you suggest for him?
[Moderator's Note:
Please, see past posts on this situation because it is not a normal one.
These ferrets are the first in Addis, Ethiopia. No tests have been done
and the indivudual treating them is unable to even do the basics, not having
even a microscope. The university vet program is being considered as
as source of further care. Multiple ferrets have died. Food is homemade,
and for a while the ferrets had access to an outside yard.

Help with African infections of members of Carnivora that have GI symptoms
would be very helpful.]
