Subject: [ferrethealth] antibiotics

Antibiotics kill bad bacteria and also good bacteria. In humans it is
recommended to eat yogurt to replenish good bacteria whenever taking
antibiotics. I've added yogurt to the recipe mix for the ferrets with
good results. I've tried giving them straight yogurt but so far I've
not found any flavor that they like. McDonalds use to sell yogurt
cones that the ferrets liked but have changed to regular soft-serve ice
cream instead.
Pumpkin has been recommended for loose stools.
