On the FHL we are mostly interested in this topic in
ways that effect health such as mammals with
genetically shortened or genetically missing tails
being more prone to spina bifida, the ways that
albino ferret eyes differ from non-albino eyes which
has many abstracts in pubmed

For regular genetics there was an old book by someone
who had bred which hasa number of genetics errors
mixed with some valid observations. It is probably
out of print.
Find some good info in Dr. Lewington's second edition of
_Ferret Husbandry, Medicine and Surgery_ but also some
editing errors. (For example, several ferrets we rescued
back when we took in ones with congenital problems
were rolled into one individual which messes up the
meaning and for some reason in editing it was put that
we breed which we don't.)

That site has been quiet recently but historically it is an
EXCELLENT one for a wide range of genetic info and although
Yahoo sites don't retain posts beyond a certain number of
