Subject: [ferrethealth] Re:Melatonin before adrenal surgery- or not?
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
If I have surgery scheduled in the near future, I haven't been using
melatonin prior to surgery, although that may change as I recently did a surgery on a
ferret that had a melatonin implant done about a month prior to surgery and
the affected adrenal went down about half in size between diagnosis and surgery,
which made the procedure much easier on everyone involved, including the
ferret.
That's an anecdote, though. I don't have any hard, cold facts for you on
whether to use it or not yet.
