It is always best to at least get an xray to rule out any problems if they are stepped on and done immediately. I know of a friend who accidently stepped on her ferret and the ferret seemed to be okay, so she figured all was okay. A few hours later she found her ferret dead halfway in her sleepsack. It is always important to rule out internal injuries. I always feel it is better to be safe than sorry.
Some vets, my vet for one, does not take Care Credit. But I do use it when I go to other vets. It is great to have for emergencies and I was grateful the emergency vet I saw, took care credit.
I do hope Bandit will be okay.
I was very lucky and grateful that Cooper J was saved by this vet. She had no or little experience with ferrets but had worked on kittens. They had no choice but to try to save him or let him die. They originally planned on stabilizing him until they could transport him to a ferret savy vet because of course it happened when my vet was not available. I was so happy with the outcome and would not have changed the course I took with this vet! A month or so later I brought Cooper J in for them to see. Everyone that met Cooper J and helped him, was so happy to see he made it.
