Subject: [ferrethealth] Bloody stools after adrenal surgery
To: "FHL" <ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com>
A week ago I wrote regarding a friend's ferret, a jill, 7 years, neutered,
who was to have adrenal surgery. The surgery took place yesterday, left
gland was diseased and removed, all went well. Today the ferret had bloody
stools and is back with my vet who has just called me to say the bleeding is
bad enough that she wants to do a transfusion so I'm ready to go in with 2
of mine. I'm just writing to see whether anybody has any idea what could
have caused it? Is it something that can happen with adrenal surgery? The
blood is bright red so the bleeding is lower down in the intestines.
Any help is very much appreciated.
