Subject: [ferrethealth] Lymphoma, treatment, chemo ... questions
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I also have a ferret...Daisy!! She is just under 2 yrs old and has been sick for a few weeks now. Weak in the hind legs...lethargic...seizures...was still eating...drinking...potty...etc. I did have to feed her for a few days because she was so weak. Took her to the vet....he did all the normal tests and nothing showed up. Gave her a shot and some Phenobarb with extra vitamins for the seizures (one fourth dropperful a day) and said the same thing....maybe virus. Also could have been poisoned ( changed her food too ) since she runs everywhere...could have eaten something bad.....etc. She's on food now thats more healthy and Im not changing... gonna stick with it.
Its been about another week since then and she is almost back to normal....still back leg weakness so not sure if that will go away or not. Doing so much better though.
Of course your Daisy is alot older.
Have you had many problems with her through the years?
This is my first ferret and I adore her and I hope she doesnt have many health problems. Dont they usually start later when they are older?

I hope this won't get too long. The ferret is Daisy, 6 years old, spayed....... (EDITED)

This is the first time I have had to deal with lymphoma. I had one case of

juvenile lymphoma and I had a few ferrets where lymphoma was diagnosed

coincidentally during autopsy/ histopathology but no adult ferret that was

clinically ill with lymphoma.
