Sukie,
Haven't looked for where exactly Mitten's scent gland is located or what color it appears to be.. She does back into the ones bothering her to the point that a poof is required to chase away the offending party. She is going on seven years old and is a retired DMK breeder that was spayed last year and NOT descented. Will check her right after she poofs the next time to see if the dark spot appears. Would be great if the poof could be caught on film. It doesn't linger very long in an open area, but in a drawer. P U!!! A lot longer. And she does play, wrestle and the such without a problem. Only poofs is scruffed and skaken by another ferret. You would think the offending ferret would learn not to provoke her.

For a while after a ferret with scent glands poofs it is
normal to see a little dark pink spot on the rectum, right?
I think it is the outlet the scent came through.

With Pivot being "complete" and Mornie the only one
who hasn't yet accepted her fully we are seeing a weird
fighting technique on and off: Pivot is holding her own
and sometimes the fighting is nothing more than them
facing away from each other and Mornie doing a weird
thing where she swings her hips widely to knock Pivot into
furniture while Pivot tries to poof. Very Vaudvillian...
